About MaarifaHub
A Central Hub of Knowledge, Innovation & Empowerment
Originally founded under the name Maarifa Foundation, the organization evolved into MaarifaHub to better reflect its mission as a central “hub” of knowledge, innovation, and empowerment. “Maarifa” means “knowledge” in Swahili, symbolizing our commitment to creating a space where young people can access learning, share ideas, and develop solutions for their communities.
At MaarifaHub, we strive to build youth confidence, leadership, and academic readiness through practical programs, including language training (English proficiency), digital literacy, civic engagement, leadership development, entrepreneurship, employability skills, and social and cultural activities. We also connect young people to mentors, networks, and opportunities that help them realize their full potential and become changemakers within their communities.
2022
MaarifaHub was founded (originally as Maarifa Foundation) to empower youth with knowledge, innovation, and leadership skills.
2023
We introduced core programs in English proficiency, digital literacy, and civic engagement to support academic readiness and community leadership.
2024
Our initiatives expanded to include entrepreneurship, employability skills, and cultural activities, while connecting youth with mentors and networks.
2025
MaarifaHub continues to grow as a central hub of innovation, empowering a new generation of changemakers across schools and communities.

At MaarifaHub, our fundamental objective is to empower young people—particularly those from marginalized, conflict-affected, and underserved communities—to become active, informed, and globally competitive citizens. To achieve this, we commit to the following specific objectives:
